National Economic Strike Idea

Hi, I am a computer technician who is very concerned about our U.S. Administration’s lawlessness under Trump. Alex Pretti joins Renee Good in the second murder by ICE and Border Patrol in Minnesota, and our administration is completely complicit in these actions by failing to hold the people responsible and encouraging lawless behavior.

I have been feeling helpless because I don’t know what to do. I don’t think protests are making a strong enough impact at the national level right now. Still, I see how powerful they can be in shaping the local situation on the ground.

I was watching a video Alex Pretti Shooting: “This is a Turning Point” from the Pivot Youtube Channel with Kara Swisher and Scott Galloway. Scott had an idea that would be effective.

I emailed FightForTheFuture and EFF to see if there was a way to organize a national economic strike. We need a base, or a set of members, within an organization that supports human rights to help with this.

Organizing a national non-participation event where we, the American people, who work for corporate institutions, temporarily stop working.

Small businesses or independents can temporarily cancel services.

For this action to be effective, it would need to last at least a week or as long as a month.

It’s hard because it requires coordination, and it’s risky for people living paycheck to paycheck. It’s been my experience that power fears withdrawal more than resistance. Withdrawal is expensive to our nation. When nothing moves, everyone listens.

As Scott said, and I agree with him, “That’s not ideology, that’s economics”.

Capitalism is built entirely on participation. The most radical thing you could do to stop this lawlessness is to refuse to participate in a system that’s not working.

In 1919, Gandhi led the most successful protest in history by refusing to cooperate in a system that was subjugating his people.

Our economy is 70% driven by this model. We only need small changes in our behavior to have an enormous effect, but we need to stand together.

ChatGPT and OpenAI are the most prominent AI services. If a significant number of Americans canceled their subscriptions and these companies had to announce a decline in subscriptions, people would take notice.

Trump and our SMP don’t respond to outrage; they respond to markets.

“The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between true and false no longer exist.” - Hannah Arendt

Please spread this message, we need more people taking other forms of action besides protesting.
