Technical Glossary

A type of malicious software designed to block access to a computer system or a data location until a sum of money is paid.

A smart device is an electronic device, generally connected to other devices or networks via different wireless protocols such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or cellular networks that can operate to some extent interactively and autonomously.

Denoting software or hardware that has been superseded but is difficult to replace because of its wide use.
